This
project began on March 20, 2006
and ended on the 14th of April!

In the
past we have conducted this project with hardboiled eggs -- but
due to the waste of food and also the mess involved............
the 2006 project used with
2" PLASTIC EGGS!!
You
will also need 2 tablespoons of filler for each egg
(such as rice, dirt, sugar, sand, noodles, etc)
All students
were encouraged to decorate the eggs either at home or at school.
It was also suggested
that teachers glued the eggs the night before to insure the eggs
not breaking apart during the roll.
They
needed a measuring tool to measure at least 30 feet (marked off
by inches).
They
needed to make sure that the area you rolled on was straight and
flat. No downhill slopes allowed. :)
Each
student rolled their
egg down the butcher paper or designated marked area. Where the
egg stopped (or left the butcher paper) is where they marked distance.
It was to be a NORMAL roll and NOT a throw. (The arm needs to swing
back NATURALLY (shoulder height) and swing forward in a normal swing.
When they release it, it should have ROLLED as if it was a bowling
ball.)
Teachers averagee all the rolls for their ENTIRE class.

** Students could also decorate 1 egg for the roll and the other
egg for an "Egg-ceptional Fashion Show."
(characters such as Abraham Lincegg, George W. Egg, The Wicked Egg
of the West, C3PEgg, Darth Egger, etc)
Students
(or parents/principal/other guests) voted for the favorite egg,
take a picture, and sent that picture to me.
A Fashion Show Page was created to show off all the eggs entered!!
The PK
through 2nd grade MAY have parental help!! However, remind your
parents this is NOT their project. Any eggs that do not seem age
appropriate will not be allowed in the Fashion
