This project began on March 21, 2005 and concluded on April 8th, 2005.

This project has ended for 2005.
See you in next year!!!

You will need 1 (or 2**) hard-boiled eggs per student which will need to be decorated (either at home or at school) Please do not decorate with any sequins, stickers, crayons, or any other substance that will impede the rolling process.

You will need a measuring tool to measure at least 20 feet (marked off by inches). It is helpful to use a long roll of butcher paper to mark out your length.

PLEASE be sure to use standard width butcher paper (3' wide) -- color is up to you. <grins>

Please make sure that the area you will be rolling on is straight and flat. No downhill slopes allowed. :)

You will need something to identify the distance each egg rolled such as a stickynote or a marker.

Each student will roll (not throw) their egg down the butcher paper or designated marked area. Where the egg stops (or leaves the butcher paper) is where you will mark distance. This is a NORMAL roll and NOT a throw. (the arm needs to swing back NATURALLY (shoulder height) and swing forward in a normal swing. When they release it, it should ROLL as if it was a bowling ball.)

Record all the rolls for your class.
Average all the rolls for your ENTIRE class.
Using the provided online form (or email), you will send the lengths of your 2 longest rolls and an average of all rolls.
(do not break down into boys vs. girls)
Check the website for updates with graphs and school participation.
Use the extra worksheets to expand this fun online project.

ALL measurements must in be INCHES! Please click here for a conversion website!!

** Have your students decorate 1 egg for the roll and the other egg for an "Egg-ceptional Fashion Show."
(characters such as Abraham Lincegg, George W. Egg, The Wicked Egg of the West, C3PEgg, Darth Egger, etc)

Have your students (or parents/principal/other guests) vote for the favorite egg, take a picture, and send that picture to me.
We will have a Fashion Show Page to show off all the eggs entered!!

The PK through 2nd grade MAY have parental help!! However, remind your parents this is NOT their project. Any eggs that do not seem age appropriate will not be allowed in the Fashion
