This project began on January 19th and concluded on February 6th, 2004.

Each participating class needed to have 1 box of Post's Alpha-Bits in the 15 oz size! (Frosted or Non-Frosted)
Each class opened the box of Alpha-Bits and divided the cereal into 3 groups. Vowels: A E I O U, Consonants: ALL OTHER LETTERS, and Final Group: INDISTINGUISHABLE.

Our Hypothesis Was:
Over 40% of all results posted by participating
schools would have more CONSONANTS in their box of Alpha-Bits than Vowels or Indistinguishable Alpha-Bits.
We were Correct!

We also believed that in the VOWEL grouping,
E would appear the most!
We were InCorrect!

Students counted the Alpha-Bits out per group and wrote down a final tally count for each group!
Students separated out the vowels and wrote down a finaly tally count for each vowel.
Students also determined if E is the vowel with the largest count.

Each teacher submitted the online form (or sent email) with the total count for each group and indicated whether E was the vowel with the highest count.

Data was posted on website displaying each classroom's (or group's) box count!
